They should team up now.
- Halo & Minecraft & Forza & Killer Instinct on Switch
- Some Nintendo IP on XBox, like Metroid, but not enough so that people still need to buy a Switch. Like Nintendo does on iOS/Android, enough to give people a taste.
- Nintendo takes over marketing/distribution of XBox in (non UK) Europe and Asia.
- MS gives Nintendo a big fat money hat.
- N64 Mini with GoldenEye + Perfect Dark + Conker + Blast Corps as some of the included games.
It would be good for gamers to have a stronger single competitor to Sony rather than two disjointed ones.
In the 2000s, Nintendo should have just accepted MS' offer to use Windows if they agreed not to enter the console business. It would have been a small price to pay to ensure at least a no.2 finish every gen, and who really cares what OS is on the system anyway. It wasn't worth making a billion+ dollar company into a competitor over.
