It would be better if Nintendo didn't scrap its partnership with Sony so Nintendo PlayStation would be a thing :p
OT if it's marketed as a Nintendo branded Xbox I think it could have a chance. Otherwise no, Xbox brand was never be popular in Japan, especially at that time MS is still a new kid in the console market.
