I guess you haven't played robot rescue? It's 3rd person platformer. You control the characters while the camera slides into the world following the character. It's a 3D platformer where you travel forwards while platforming to the sides as well. The benefit of VR is you can look around and peak up and down / behind things to find hidden items. 3rd person works just as well in VR, which opens a lot of options for different perspectives to play in.
You see a lot more in the headset, social screen cuts of the bottom to make it 16:9, hence you don't see the character all the time in the video. It is there.
No, I know lol, but then it goes back to there not being much appeal to an experience like that. People want VR immerse themselves in new worlds, not to voyeuristically look at someone else's.

I thought that too, until I tried Wayward sky, Bound, Tethered, Robot rescue and many others after those. 3rd person is just as immersive as 1st person experiences. Rez Infinite is 3rd person, best game so far! (You can unlock 1st person mode too, too close to the action!)
