I don't think you'll see any mascot playformer from major IP in VR. They aren't working as mascots if you can't see them.

I guess you haven't played robot rescue? It's 3rd person platformer. You control the characters while the camera slides into the world following the character. It's a 3D platformer where you travel forwards while platforming to the sides as well. The benefit of VR is you can look around and peak up and down / behind things to find hidden items. 3rd person works just as well in VR, which opens a lot of options for different perspectives to play in.

You see a lot more in the headset, social screen cuts of the bottom to make it 16:9, hence you don't see the character all the time in the video. It is there.
