At face value I completely agree with you. However, WiiU was the worst 3rd party support Nintendo has ever received.
The primary reasons for that were removed with NS (lack of specific tech support, not raw power). NS supports all the same engines and tech as the other consoles now, just weaker.
I would expect all of the common yearly titles to come to NS (madden, fifa, cod, etc) but very few if any of the bigger one-off types of games such as RDR2.
Also, there is no reason to not want Nintendo to get 3rd party support. It just makes it easier and you get NS special functionality such as portability, insane local multiplayer options and insane controller configurations, as well as smaller things that may make a difference like motion.
