I mean that Mario doesn't lend itself to the reasons that people want to experience VR. And because Miyamoto explicitely said so.

But mostly because of the first bit. When people think about VR, they aren't thinking about jumping on mushrooms.

I don't think you'll find anyone that doesn't have a smile on their face while playing robots rescue. (corrected the name)
It doesn't have to be Mario anyway, Rayman can do the job too.
