Yep it is! At the end of the day, its the games that sells hardware. That is why the Wii U and Vita flopped sooo hard, and one of the reasons why PS4 is winning by a lot!
As long as Nintendo gives us all of their IP on the Switch (that includes metroid) then theres hope.
