First Mario Kart with AI in 3/4 player splitscreen, first home console one with 32 tracks, Vehicles handled well, Splitscreen Online, Great Soundtrack! It was insanely unbalanced, and you could zoom from last to 1st on certain tracks all the time at the last corner with a golden mushroom. But it was the first Mario Kart with really good local multiplayer for 3+ players. |
Don't forget the biggest advantage online play brings, being that all racers are human players which makes the game way more interesting.
MKWii is uber unbalanced no doubt, but I don't think a lot of people realize that MK8 is just as unbalanced. Think about it, lightweights are garbage in both, each game has one of it's vehichle types being significantly superior to the other (Bikes in Wii, Karts in 8), and both of their item systems have major faults. In terms of balance, MK7 is king!
