I know both aren't ideal but if I had to choose, I would go with the 5am start. That way I actually get sleep before then (if I actually plan ahead) rather than trying to wait till midnight and maybe stay up for a couple hours just to go over the whole presentation. Though personally I can wake up at 5am since I'm actually a morning person. But that's just me.
