Yes, and even if it does not support calling and text, there is still a thing called online gaming that is massivly popular on phones and gaming device, however, on the go, you need a 4G connecton to take advantage of it. There is not always a wifi hotspot available, and some public and private areas monitor for people using their phones as a wifi hotspot for security reason. The only way to garentee great mutliplayer on the go is if this has a 4G option.

On top of that I want the Portable form factor to remain viable, it has to evolve for that to happen. People have not chose the slab phone over portables, they have had  no option for a higher quality mobile experience. I just want Sony, Nintendo, or Microsoft to offer a portable gaming phone that leverages their current library of games, their network, and their services. It doesn't matter which one does it, I just want an actual option in the mobile market, just like I want an option for a high powered PC that is not Windows, but actualy has support unlike Linux and MAC.

So again, if Nintendo actually trys to evolve the market, and offers 4G, then I will be on board day one. If the Switch is still marching towards the death of Nintendo and Portable gaming, then I will continue to pass. I already have a Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, PSP, and PS Vita if I want to play an unconnected portable device.

I just don't see Nintendo making a device where you have to pay via an online contract, that's not the sort of thing that kids do and I'm sure that their folks don't want to keep paying for 24/7. Wifi hot spots are still aplenty, unless you're in the middle of nowhere, then I'd ask why you're living there in the first place.

You can see just how protable it is if you watched Jimmy Falon holding it in his hands and generally the frist time Nintendo advertised it. There is the tablet, small and slab phone for 3 different size choices, the Switch just happens to fit into the second tablet option, same with the eventual release of Nvidia's new tablet shield sometime next year.

I know you want them to design little phones that can do eevrything udner the sun, so that you'll never ever have to feel like you have to move anywhere for anyone, but that's not the world we currently live in where we have our Weyland Yutani that stands above all.

You don't like the idea of a PC though. I've seen you say numerous tiems on how youw ant console boxes to oevrride desktop PC's, and that you've already said thanks to PS4P, you'll "never have to look at PC gaming ever again", which in essence tells me that you really, really don't want to have to do anything with PC gaming, you'd rather it be twisted for something that already and currently exists (albeit in a weaker form).

I like how you've been mentioning "evolve", as if if it doesn't go your way, it's definitely and factually as good as dead. 4g isn't cheap mate, otherwise we'd all be using 4g, all 7 billion of us, but it's really not and therefore wifi is still a thing and so is gaming at home, in cafe's, at airports etc. Calling Nintendo dead because they aren't marching in your direction is rather arrogant and silly tbh.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
