If you just want a Nintendo system that has a lot of games on it without all the damn droughts ... you'll probably be happy with the Switch. The sheer ability to combine their library output will over the course of even 3-4 years result in a lot of good Nintendo games on the system

Hopefully their software output is many times what the Wii U's was, since they only have 1 system now to make games for.

See, the problem is, this only works if they have the guts to kill the 3DS. If they wimp out and keep it on life support, Switch will not get their full software output and this whole unified library thing will blow away like a fart in the wind.

3DS might get a little more support from Nintendo but nothing significant, as of now the only projects they have releasing after Switch launches are Mario Sports Superstars, Ever Oasis & Pikmin.

Other tha that we will probably see Miitopia release outside of Japan along with Nintendo publishing a few localized 3rd party games like Yokai Watch 3.

There is really no reason to believe Nintendo is going to invest heavily in 3DS next year and by 2018 support for it will essentially be dead.
