These numbers are not totally horrible for current day japan.

But it doesn't change the fact that those "biggest opening in the series" headlines were clearly meant to be misleading.

Day 1 Japan sales from this gen:
Dragon Quest 7 port - 836K
Pokemon Ruby/Saphire remakes and Monster Hunter, Monster Hunter X - 1.5M
Monster Hunter 4 - 1.75M
Pokemon X/Y - 2M
Yokai Watch 2 - 2.5M+

Is there supposed to be a point? Those are all on the 3DS. Are you sugesting FF mainline should be on the 3DS?
