You've said that you don't like his content for the way he acts in them and that you don't see much substance in them. You've at least given reasons there and are fully entitled to feel that way since it's your own opinion. But in having your own opinion you also have to see though that there are other people who have the opinion that they do like his content. So saying you want him to delete his channel just because you personally not might like it, despite knowing that a bunch of other people do like it, is what i'm trying to say here that is different from simply saying you don't like it. It comes off more as like "Well I don't like it so that means nobody else can like it and I want it to be removed!". I don't see what's so difficult in saying "Well I don't like this thing, but I see that other people do so I suppose i'll just ignore it" and not request or hope that it be removed entirely for everyone, even those that do like it. Like, i'm not even insulting anyone by saying I feel those posts are embarassing to read. I just don't see what's so hard about just not watching or paying attention to it then. Him having that channel and making videos, whether someone likes them or not, does not affect anyone's life in anyway. I just don't see why people feel the need to constantly write posts like that if they feel that way about something when it would be so much easier to ignore it. |
But I didn't tell him to delete his channel. I just said I hope he does it. There's a difference.
I know a lot of people like his channel. I think I still have the right to say I wish he deleted his channel, and I don't think it's in bad taste either. Now if I actually had the power to delete his channel and I did, that would be in extremely bad taste - and I know I wouldn't do it. The way I see is that wishing him to delete his channel is just a strong expression of opinion. It's probably not an expression I would use if I knew he was listening because it's not constructive in any way, but because he's not listening, there's no need for my opinion to be constructive.
