Calm down . Back in the day the first PS2 year saw more hardware than software sold in Japan .And not great weekly sales in hardware either .Difference was that then had plenty of stock when it was released and for that holiday season so they put out quite quickly 1.5 million out ,but for the rest of the year the sales were slow .Better than PS3 ones right now ,but slow nonetheless . As for the Top 50 not having PSP and PS3 games I dont take this sites charts as facts .I mean ,If I had to I would suppose that games as Pro Evolution Soccer 6 on the PSP ,or Virtua Tennis 3 or Afterburner have sold 0 .I am specially sceptic in the PSP numbers ,PS3 ones could be ok .Next week you will see The Darkness ,Transformers and Rainbow Six Vegas in the Top 50 if thats so important to you .And next Ninja Gaiden will enter also the american charts . Games that appel to customers have sold in the PS3 ,as example Gundam Mussou or even Resistance ,the crappy Gundam and RR7 .Even NGS is doing ok for it being a port .Its not mad numbers but they sell ,its not as every PS3 customer only wants the console as a BR player .Folksouls ,in any case ,hasnt been one of those games ,and thats why this post is why being a JRPG and all . Finally some should put the foots in the grounds .A megahit in Japan has traditionally been 100 000 units sold .Maybe right now if we consider the market is somewhat bigger we could say it is 120K sold .With that kind of sales the game is more than amortized .Selling 4 million or two million is great bt not the common pattern ,only some casual games on the DS and the big series of RPG in Japan manage that .Not because not selling 1million you are flopping.Probably with 75K you are making worthy the development and with 100K you have good profit .Additionally ,the traditional pattern of sales in Japan has been strong first week sales and declining fast after that .The Training and NIntendogs games,or Wii Sports and Wii Play in the Wii ,as Tetris before it ,are in a games consoles as the DS but are another kind of thing .If you want further proof of that you have the traditional games in the Wii and their showing in the Wii,and those I have to remind you arent performing better that the PS3 ones specially having in count the big difference in userbase .Thats what the industry is about ,not about some casual games or minigames that each hardware buyer buy and only benefits Nintendo .

hmmm a bit more misinformation here. Where's it coming from? Oh surprise surprise, Diomedes at it again! You really are becoming the King of Misinformation aren't you?

Yeah the PS2 really struggled to take off in Japan, didn't it?It really had some low hardware sales when it launched...
it only launched better than the Wii. And we all know the Wii launched terrible in Japan. Wow, look at that, the PS2 was only the second best hardware launch ever in Japan (after the GBA). And they hadn't even had a holiday season in Japan yet. Poor Sony, they must have been really upset at that terrible PS2 launch, just like right now they're not too worried about PS3.
I didn't manage to find a single week where PS2 hardware outsold software. If anyone can find one then please post it. I'm sure it doesn't exist though. Because Diomedes is above evidence, all the evidence he needs is right inside his head!
