Spencer announced over a year ago how much he hates 3rd party exclusive deals and how he will do away with them, even going as far as saying it could be his "failing". What he really meant was that "Sony has a huge market share compared to us, we can't afford to make 3rd party deals anymore". What followed was a Hololens demos and partnerships with Oculus and their own cheap alternative for Windows. He wants to downplay VR because of PSVR but then happily announces VR partnerships and show off Hololens.

Ok paragraph 1, you're arguing over semantics. He says he's 'not a huge fan' and something they'll 'do less of'. Have you seen any sign of that? Do you really believe he would of said that if Xbox were in the driving seat? I highly doubt it.
Paragraph 2, your link is great. It shows exactly how he works. He's saying PSVR is great while at the same time playing it down. He does this a lot, he's full of backhanded complements.
Paragraph 3, I'm not sure why you can't see it, is it too subtle? Actually I think it's one of his less subtle jabs. again he's taking a shot at Sony, he refers to them as 'other platforms' but he is taking a shot at them Instead of doing what he claims he likes to do and talk about what they are doing, he's trying to highlight what Sony isn't doing. So he doesn't like consoles but thinks it's ok to downplay the competition while saying how good your games are.
In conclusion, MS and Spencer constantly refer to Sony, either directly or indirectly. Spencer always downplays Sony. He's can be subtle but everything is well thought out. PS4 Pro in the works 'not a fan of 1.5 consoles '. PSVR in the works 'VR isn't ready'.
On the other side you hardly hear Sony mention Xbox or refer to it. I think the 'how to borrow a game' was the only pop at MS. Could be wrong but that's the only one I can remember.
