Pokémon games don't stop selling after 3 weeks. Digimon will always struggle more on a Nintendo console compared to a Sony console. The Japanese 3DS owners have no shortage when it comes to games where you capture and battle with creatures this year: Yokai Watch 3, Monster Hunter Stories and Pokémon Sun and Moon. There's simply no room for a spin-off Digimon game this year. |
I'm sorry but this is just utter nonsense. A history of Digimon games on Nintendo handhelds:
| 138 | NDS | Digimon Story | 44,932 | 217,986 |
| 165 | NDS | Digimon World: Dusk / Dawn | 72,308 | 185,110 |
| 333 | NDS | Digimon Story: Lost Evolution | 36,105 | 80,279 |
| 347 | NDS | Digimon Story: Super Xros Wars Blue / Red | 28,499 | 77,871 |
| 467 | NDS | Digimon Championship | 17,812 | 46,860 |
| 125 | 3DS | Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode | 37,125 | 75,987 |
But all those games cratered from releasing on the same platform as Pokemon, right?
If that was true, then Youkai Watch would've never taken off like it has done. Might as well have released on Vita where there's no competition, amirite?
And I mean, why release your first person shooter on PS4? Call of Duty is there. Battlefield would be better off coming to Wii U, right?
Can't believe I'm actually having this discussion.

Honestly Kresnik, it just looks bad, that is the reason. |
Next Order looked bad. There's bad, and then there's this.
