There's a new Xenoblade in the works, even a teaser is speculated to come in the January event. Also a mainline Metroid has been asked for since a long time.

 

On the other hand, 3DWorld does not do any favor in your argument about 3D Mario games, in fact, it only showed a lack of interest from Nintendo.
