The Switch performance should be around low-end laptop performance, so a GeForce 740m / 840m / 940m.
Dark Souls 3 can run on that hardware in 720p @ 30fps unlocked (the 940m can hit 30fps locked)

So the Switch should be able to run plenty of current-gen games at low / mid settings as long as they're aiming for 720p resolutions. Which honestly isn't bad for taking your favorite games on the go.
The main thing they need is either a great upscaler, or SS so the games look noticeably better when playing in 1080p on a larger screen, or worse a 4K TV.
