Since Nintendo released a New3DS and how it greatly affected it sales....... We can see something along the lines of that on the Switch.

Yeah... I can't imagine a 1TFlop machine lasting for the next 5 years. As a Handheld it could, but a 1TFlop home console in say... 2021?

I definitely expect some new kind of hardware out by Nintendo before the end of 2020, whether that's a Switch Pro, Switch 2.0 or a new system entirely.

But this is really centred on the idea of Nintendo getting the same third party support as PS4/X1. I really don't think thats at the top of Ninteno's agenda for the next 5 years & I don't think its central to the Switches success.

Otherwise Nintendo would have just opted for 2 distinct pieces of hardware with very similar architecture, same catridge medium, same OS and 100% shared 1st party library (Pokemon Stars, Mario 3D, Zelda BOTW ect).
