Unfortunate and unpleasant but probably necessary.
Covering your face is a fundamental barrier to integration into a culture. You can't get to know people or make friends anywhere near the same amount.
I remember trying to talk to a girl in the full body bag thing before once. She was normal and nice enough. Then when she left, it suddenly dawned on me that I would be completely incapable of recognizing her again in the future. What are you gonna do? Just go round asking everyone until you get the right voice?
