I disliked it unfortunately.

She learns their language, which gives her the ability to think in their way, and therefore predict the future/see time nonlinearly. It makes zero sense to me. But it's presented like it was some deep spiritual thing. Also if the aliens could see the future, why didn't they prevent the bomb from killing one of them? And why are they even there in the first place, they only solve the problem they themselves caused when they arrived. "Because they need humanity's help in 3000 years" - well I guess that kind of explains it....
