the switch is rumored to have usb 3.0 AND usb 2.0, with that rumor comes every othe confirmed rumor so far.
also, this doesn't make any sense cause the usb itself requires a licensing fee... thunderbolt or not, requires a fee.
and about the external gpu, usb c makes the patented suplemental computer device possible. So it could be the dock or a more powerful dock that you can buy separately. It's about the real posibility and not overhyping. But even if the hardware is just for fast charging and different inputs like usb c to hdmi, that's something to be excited about compared to a normal usb or a shitty propietary charger.
