I agree they should lay off Taiwan. 

On the other hand part of me says China isn't going to say "Fuck us? Oh ok, Mr. American guy. Yes, we'll fuck ourselves, you sure told us", and that'll be the end of that. 

I don't know if antagonizing them is a good play to make. 

They're actually antagonising themselves. Countries should be free to have relations with other countries without the fear of whether or not it will upset another country.
