This is the type of thinking that almost destroyed the world during the Cuban Missle Crisis during the actual Cold War. JFK's military chiefs were convinced nuclear war with Russia was inevitable, if he had listened to them likely most of central Europe, China, Russia, and the probably a major US city like New York would've been eradicated in nuclear war.

JFK + Khruschev saved the world from more extremist elements in their power ranks, I have no doubt of it. The thinking that war is inevitable and thus a first strike must be implemented is extremely dangerous, none of us posting on this board would likely even be alive to post because human history would've been so radically different.

A situation is analysed and a judgement made on probability taking as many variables into account as possible.

If war is inevitable then first strike is obviously the way to go.

Don't let the temptation of virtue signaling cloud your mind on every post.

You should study the Cuban Missle Crisis. Those who don't learn anything from history are doomed to repeat it.

China has far greater nuclear capability than Russia did in th 1960s as well.
