Well it's too fucking obvious but we are talking about fucking Nintendo, and they don't do obvious shit.

The problem here is that Nintendo has hundreds of employees who work programming games, and they don't know to make other things (in a proffesional way). So, unless they decide to fire all those employees and start to hire people that do other things (and thats not probable), they'll still be in the gaming business.

If you're talking about options like going mobile only, well, it's not very probable (not every Nintendo IP has the potential of Mario/Pokémon to make profit at mobile) and, anyway, that would still be going third party...
