MS just doesn't take risks like Sony or Nintendo do. Sony, especially invests in new IPs all the time and while some turn out sucking donkey balls, it also produces gems like the Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn etc. Sure, you can say those games are developed by some of the best studios on the planet, but if MS owned the same studios, ND would probably be on Jak and Dexter part 7 by now and Zero Dawn would be Killzone 6.
