You don't have to be a genius or have more data to figure out that there are a lot of X360 owners that still haven't upgraded yet. Xbox 360 sold close, if not over, 90 million consoles last gen, more than what PS4, X1 and WII U sold until now, combined .

Indeed. Both of my brothers are 360 owners and still haven't upgraded. I'm the only one of us who owns a Xbox One. My brother played mine and now he is looking to get one himself. Same with my other brother. Once they saw that most of my games are playable through BC their tunes changed drastically.

Fair points.  Granted yes it makes sense to some degree seeing as how Bunchanumbers said his brothers will be upgrading.

But I LOVE GIGGS can you actually be sure and assume that people are still waiting to upgrade just because they bought the previous console?

Because if that's the case then couldn't you say the same for the PS4 since the PS3 sold roughly 90million as well?  Shouldn't the PS3 have sold more than 90million since the PS2 sold +150million?  Shouldn't the Wii U have sold a ton ton more because the Wii sold 100million?  Last gens number should never reflects on current gens, that's just how it is.

But if that's how MS sees it then that sounds more like a poor assumtion rather than some solid data.

I don't think that the tipping point is necessarily towards actual sales but perception. I think they finally rid themselves of the Mattrick era Xbox and are starting back at zero. It sounds strange to say but the DRM always online vision of the Mattrick era still stuck with the Xbox One years after launch. People kept saying that what's to stop MS from going back?

I think people are looking at MS differently and are willing to give them a fair shake because of the S. Not necessarily because the good time sales numbers of the 360 are happening.
