I would say that is more of an issue for XB than I would for PS.  Looking at the lists you have 8 games with an average of 2.21 from 5 franchises for XB.  For PS you have 9  games (I discounted LBP due to PS3) with an average of 2.01 per game from 9 franchises.  Diversity is a bit better than relying on the same few franchises over and over.

Edit: also someone else earlier pointed out that you have 7 or 8 genres in the PS list.  You have 4 in the XB list.

PS has always been more diverse but that's because their fans prefer a more diverse amount of exclusives while Xbox prefer fps, tps, racers, horror games. I agree that it's better that PS has more diversity but there's no point for MS to branch out to genres that won't sell well.

One could argue the genres would sell well IF Microsoft actually put the energy necessary into them.  Fact is MS has been milking the same franchises for years, including the 3rd party CoD, and that has started to turn on its head a bit.  Also, as another poster mentioned, based on the criteria almost half the games you listed for the XB1 wouldn't count.  Knocking the total franchises down to 4 and game genres to 3.  Also knocks down the average a bit I believe.
