Moffat has no idea how to finish the story arcs he builds up to, I mean take Capaldi's first season for instance, what a bloody awful ending. A conversation in a graveyard and then a cyberman that isn't under control because of LOVE sacrifices himself to save the day! "Love isn't an emotion, it's a promise". Such horrific writing. It literally makes zero sense. For some reason after season 6 he became completely incompetent at writing any satisfying conclusion. |
The end of Capaldi's first season I saw it as a "setting up" of events to come. And we finally got Gallifrey at the end of the next season, but it was so anti-climatic. This coming season better tie everything up as an awesome final season. Otherwise, it would be hard to give the next a chance.
