Wasn't much but still excited. Did they ever say what they would scrap in Orlando? Or did they end up buying additional land?

Nothing announced as yet, they have bought additional land. They're definitely building a new theme park. Whether Nintendo goes in there, or replaces an existing part of another park has not been announced yet.

I'd personally like to see it go where Kidzone is in Universal Studios. Keep ET, but everything else (including the Animal Actors stage) is dated and unpopular. Kill it all.

Note that they're also tearing down Wet n Wild (they're building a new water park, Volcano Bay, to replace it), so something could go in that space. Waterparks are often smaller than theme parks, so maybe a Nintendo minipark?

Oh, and it's quite likely that Orlando will be the last park to receive anything Nintendo (except like a gift store, or a character meet and greet). Osaka will be first, followed by Hollywood. Orlando won't be seeing anything until the 2020s, I would bet.
