By your logic we should also assume that PS4 Slim and all the XB1 bundles were having trouble selling at their current price so they had to be dropped another 15% to move some units.

It was a storewide promotion at target where they were giving a 15% off coupon for anything you buy, and Amazon was price matching them.

It has nothing to do with not being able to move units of a console, they were just trying to drive customer to their respective stores.
