People of all types play games, just as they have for a long while now.
My father introduced me to gaming before I was even able to play them myself. I was born in 1980, and he was doing all night marathons with our Atari 2600 as far back as I can remember. He continued gaming regularly until his death, last year. He was a white, American, plumber, middle class family man.
I was talking to a client a couple of years ago that was well into his 80s. He played CoD and Battlefield on PC all the time. He said a doctor suggested gaming to him as a sort of rehab after he had a stroke. He got hooked.
My 37 year old wife plays Android games regularly, as does my 12 year old niece.
My 78 year old grandmother plays casual games on PC daily.
So, yeah, the gamer stereotypes are total BS.
