Yes, they made deals to get games their console need in order to appeal to more people. They already get all the Lego games.

Yes, but those are multi platform Lego games that could be played on other consoles to, but Lego Mario or Lego Zelda would definitely bring more people on board. Clear example of that is Minecraft Nintendo exlusive content, and Switch will definitely have much more exclusive deals like those, so its not relly hard to imagine that Nintendo make deal with Warner Bros/TT that they make Lego Zelda or Lego Mario while development would be just overseen by Nintendo.
