The campaign he wanted to do. He wasn't getting the money he wanted from NBC to re-up for the Apprentice. Then he got through the primaries by saying crazy stuff and and he could see building a TV/cult personality brand from all the supporters he was getting. He can smell a business oppurtunity from 2 miles away. He didn't expect to actually win though. This is like flirting with a girl, having a fun one-night stand, but then fast forwarding to her becoming pregnant. There's a huge lot of baggage there now that perhaps one didn't bank on getting into. And you're right he doesn't need this, but I disagree about this being for the "right" reasons. He's an oppurtunist sales-man who has gotten himself in way over his head and now is going to have do something he has no experience or training for, which is going to require a level of thought, research, scrutiny, and work ethic he is not accustomed to. There is not much glamour in the day to day mechanics of actually being a politican, and yes he is a politican now. The other thing that concerns me about him is he doesn't seem to have any conviction on many of his positions. One day he's a hard liner, the next day depending on who's around him, he's suddenly "Teddy Bear Trump" and wants to be liked. I don't believe he has the mental I.Q. for this job in the most blunt terms. He's a giant baby that needs to be coddled, even his own advisers said that he would not listen to their advice unless he heard it through the TV, because he's obsessed with TV coverage. So they would have to "leak" things to TV reporters so they would report it back to Trump to get him to listen. |
I gotta agree. To me it seems like he was bluffing and America called his bluff. He is already disinterested in being president and he is using the office to further his own business interests. Oddly enough this might be the best case scenario. At best we can pray for a lame duck presidency. At worse it will be either civil or world war.
