The hot topics selection doesn't work - I'm seeing Nintendo topics on my home page

You seem confused. If you mean the front page - it isn't broken. It isn't affected by the filters.

If you actually mean "Hot Topics" that isn't on the front page - are you sure you are doing it right? Click show, uncheck Nintendo, click save.

If that's the case, then it is broken. Why can't I select what topics I see in the front page?
