I honestly don't regret buying a Wii U at all.
Many games I played on this console for the first time and I enjoyed most of them:
- Metroid Fusion (my favorite 2D Metroid game)
- Metroid: Zero Mission (my second favorite 2D Metroid game)
- The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (my second favorite 2D Zelda game)
- Metroid Prime Trilogy (never played the first entry, but didn't like it as much as I did the other two tbh)
- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (one of the best 2D platformers ever created)
- Super Mario Maker (my most played game on the Wii U, also one of the best 2D platformers ever created)
- Mario Kart 8 (doesn't beat out Double Dash, but definitely better than Mario Kart Wii)
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (beautiful looking game)
- Pikmin 3 (my first Pikmin game, quite enjoyable and original)
- Super Mario 3D World (not as good as Galaxy overall, but better in some aspects like exploration and power-ups)
- Splatoon (the best shooter game of this generation and it can only improve in the future)
- Batman: Arkham City (very fun game, I consider this to be a casual Metroid-like experience)
- Xenoblade Chronicles (thanks to the gamepad the game looked decent, on a big tv it look atrocious. It's my favorite Wii game, but I only got a chance to play it thanks to the Wii U VC)
I bought other games of course, but these are the ones I enjoyed the most. The rest were average or bad.
