It shouldnt be the standard, thats like saying all Playstation consoles and all Nintendo handhelds need to sell over 150 million to be successful because thats the standard.

But i agree with the overall point that MK8 is being held back by the Wii U install base and has potential to sell much more by being on a popular device.

I think that not thinking that way is what separates companies like Apple and Disney from companies like Sony and Nintendo. You have a success, and you seak to surpass it and keep momentum going, always one-upping yourself. So yeah, it's exactly like saying that all Platstation consoles and all Nintendo handhelds need to sell over 150 million because it's the standard. The gold standard.

If I was running a company that had successes like that, and I told my staff that our next thing had to surpass that, and they said it can't be done because of XYZ, they'd all be fired because that's a failure's mindset. In a universe of infinite possibilities, there is always a possibility for greater success, and these companies have the recourses and talent in spades to have them.

Im not saying they shouldnt try to reach or surpass those numbers but at the same time it shouldnt be considered a failure for not hitting those numbers.

If PS4 sells 120 million than its a huge success whether or not it surpassed PS2. Just like a 15 million selling Mario Kart title is a huge success even if it does not surpass MK Wii.
