I think that not thinking that way is what separates companies like Apple and Disney from companies like Sony and Nintendo. You have a success, and you seak to surpass it and keep momentum going, always one-upping yourself. So yeah, it's exactly like saying that all Platstation consoles and all Nintendo handhelds need to sell over 150 million because it's the standard. The gold standard.
If I was running a company that had successes like that, and I told my staff that our next thing had to surpass that, and they said it can't be done because of XYZ, they'd all be fired because that's a failure's mindset. In a universe of infinite possibilities, there is always a possibility for greater success, and these companies have the resources and talent in spades to make them happen with consistency and exponentiality.
