Umm...yes, they did. The promoted a Wii U game at E3. It was playable on the Wii U. Also, it would be too expensive for them not to release it on Wii U. Porting it to the Switch probably took additional tima and money on top of all the money they had already spent. Releasing the game on both consoles would give them a greater return on their investment.
