Already trying to downplay I see? Splatoon on the go and Pokémon Stars will probably boost sales of the Switch more than Zelda ever could. Especially in Japan, which is Nintendo's biggest market. I can see Splatoon selling 10 million plus copies if the Japanese 3DS owners all make the switch to the Switch. There's also that new IP and the Retro Studios game (which might be one and the same actually) that Eurogamer mentioned. Even the 3D Mario platformer will help the Switch more than the new Zelda game, since that won't come out for the Wii U. Not to mention the possible boost the Mario franchise will get from the smarthphone game Super Mario Run. And 3D Mario is bigger than Zelda anyway. If this line-up is true, I'm buying pretty much everything. It still depends on how much new content Splatoon and Mario Kart 8.5 have though, but it looks likely that I will sell my Wii U games and rebuy them on the Switch. That Mario RPG with the invading Rabbids sounds promising, but I need to see more before I decide if it's worth a purchase. If it looks like a quality game and not some cheaply made shovelware then I will definitely buy it. |
"Downplay"? Seriously? Detach your ego from a console that hasn't even released. Is it not possible to discuss the launch of a video-game system from a critical perspective? Christ.
And, yes, I'm sure you're buying everything but I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about the people who skipped the Wii U and are outside Nintendo's current ecosystem, hence my use of the term "non-faithful".
