Wait, people from metropolitan areas voting Democrat? Totally unheard of. I honestly think it's less of a Hollywood thing, and more of an artist thing. If you've ever lived in a community of artists the introspection and open-mindedness required if genuine creativity often clashes with the conservative policies of the Republican party in general, and more particularly with the hateful thinking of Tea Party candidates and Trump.
That's not to say there aren't great artists who are conservative, it's just not as common - and their conservatism is not often of the radical variety. Even conservative hardliners create art that shares messages of noninterventionalism, forgiveness, coexistence, and understanding.
