What worries me is that Mario Kart/Smash Ports and Zelda or all post launch, makes you wonder if there'll be many first party releases other then those three before holiday 2017. Those three games should have been launch window, well at the very least Mario Kart and Zelda.

They need to space them out in order to be kind to third parties, not canabalise their own sales and also to present Switch as a new platform. I could see something like this:

March- New Mario, Splatoon

May- Zelda, Pokemon Party game

June/July-Mario Kart, Pikmin 4

Fall - Smash Bros, Retro's Title, Animal Crossing, New IP

 

Zelda is several months after launch. This rules out May.
