Its 14mn fabrication process and lets say a 500 gflops radeon gpu and dual thread dual core cpu would be very effective and low power. My point is it could be cancelled once its damaged Nintendo Switch launch but also could be a completely viable new format capable of running ps4 games with less graphic fidelity. It's technology not available to Nintendo because of their launch window but would be realistic later in the year. The Vita phone would be vita compatible with vita games so it would be a phone with a pretty respectable software library. Switch is a new format without a large existing software library. The Vita phone would also be available I'm sure from many mobile retailers etc. I certainly think there is the potential for it to do good business as part of the Playstation family. Vita performance is now possible with great battery life making it a more effective portable. Many sony portables were just too powerful in the past making them less effective portable gaming systems because battery runtime was too short.
Relatively cheap mobile phone with gaming performance Docks for charging and basic home console/media system Good battery life Faster when docked. Streams ps4 and ps3 games Works with ps4 and ps3 controllers Takes standard micro sd cards Also takes vita cartridges. |
Architecture and actual hardware performance aren't the same thing mate, AMD has nothing in the portable sector that could have powered a hybrid like device such as the switch, Nintendo would have had to fund the RnD for them to come up with something. Nvidia on the other hand already had tech that fit the device plus the's business incentive for both companies.
Your argument on the announcement no offence would only ever work in spoof movie? Because you're arguing like such a move has flexibility when it doesn't, business doesn't work that way, for a start no announcment is going to impact the Switch's launch other than pricing, Zelda plus early adoptors will ensure the platform launches wells regardless of anything going on. This means that the only way to damage Switch is in the long run which means Sony would actually have to release a new platform to deal with it, if you really believe Sony would dedicate resources for a false announcement while have things on stand by just in case to do a u-turn you're kidding yourself platforms need actual proper planning no run of the mill "Let's wing it" decisions.
You keep mentioning Vita this and that, mate that ship has sailed before being sank by the 3DS, you may as well argue that releasing a Wii U mini would combat the PS4pro and Scorpio. Repackaging the Vita in any way shape or form is not going to compete with Switch not to mention you ignored what was told to you in the previous reply and Sony and their gaming phones.
