Nintendo will keep making them until they stop selling, which given how well SMB3 still sells today, might be never.

Stop being silly. This only plays NES games. If a PS2 only played PS1 games it wouldn't be a PS2 would it?

Consoles can be a christmas gift sure. For those lucky people. There is quite a difference between a $300 console, and a $60 dollar stocking stuffer. You can't add more games, you can't change the games, you don't get to choose the games. You can't call something like that a console.

 It has every game that matters and has more games than most NES owners ever had. I think 30 high quality games is more than enough for any console. Besides, just imagine how much it would cost to sell the games on cartridges or the hassle of setting up accounts to buy online.
