It wouldnt be dark souls if it had an easy mode. it would abandon its reason for being. This is a niche game for a hardened audience.Demon Souls would never have become famous if it was easy. In a market that is filled with easy mode players dark souls dared to fill the need of hardened gamers who arent challenged. Think about this....if Dead pool was rated PG-13 so kids could get into it...would it have been a true deadpool movie? Robocops reboot was PG-13 and look how much it took from the heart and soul of what ws Robo cop just to try and find a wider audience. Sometimes you have to have faith in the character and premise is going to go over with the audience it was meant to be shown to. They were scared for Deadpool and it ended up breaking records for rated R movies. Dead Pool couldnt have been portrayed properly with a PG 13 rating and neither could Dark Souls if an Easy mode option. It doesnt hurt the real gamers...but it sells out to what it is. Its the basic concept of principle over profit and luckily for Dark Souls its one of few games of its kind that are profitable.

Errrrrrrrrrrr changing a movie to PG-13 is quite different to adding an option to a game.

You're not getting what I am saying. Dead Pool is great because all of the factors that made it genuine was due to the writing being only for adults. Its the only way they could freely write up the script that embodied the spirit of the character. They did not water down the  movie. In games when a game is made to test a person in a certain type of way, to water it down is to kill the true meaning of what that game is.

As I said, your issue is that you want to be in the club, but you dont care about the principle of what the game is. What makes Dark Souls great isnt the storymode, but rather the grueling gameplay and bossses and sparsely seen campfire save spots. This game is for gamers who have a never say die attitude. They keep coming back even after they have to turn the game off and come back. The euphoria of beating the game is because it was one of the toughest many have ever faced.

When I was growing up when I went to the arcade all of the kids played Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, but when Killer Instinct came out only a handful of players mastered that game while others watched in awe. They would try to learn the game, but it was deeper and harder to grasp than MK and Street FIghter. In the end...they were what made up the audience. KI made enough money to be considered a profitable game but was never a fan favorite franchise.  It was a cult classic. This is also due to the fact that it was exclusive to arcades and Nintendo.

You dont get an option for easy because if you had an easy mode you wouldnt be playing Dark Souls. You can only demand harder difficulty which comes with new game plus.
