I'm not knocking the EU's economy, just the source the poster I quoted was using to determine its wealth.
The EU has room for growth in Eastern Europe and it will grow over time. But with most of the established players (UK, France, Germany, etc.) sitting with birth rates around or below the required minimum to maintain a population, growth is non-existent in the major powers of the EU.
The US is continually growing (Canada a little less so) and Mexico is always growing. There's more room for growth in NA.
