Obviously that is probably extreme, but the question still stands. My stores-in my area have only one or two per store currently. Lets not forget that despite sales declining, they will go up a bit over the holidays.

I think its best for non Wii U owners who wants Zelda BOTW to buy the Switch instead. 

 

Or lots of Wii U owners might trade in their Wii U to get a discount on the Switch (I might do it if my store allows it) which means lots of preowned + cheap Wii Us around.
