Japan is the country we look at where mobile phone gaming has had the most impact on the console gaming business. While the west is where its still most relevant.

Its unlikely this gen will achieve sales at par with last gen because the market chagned.

The Wii's success throws a curveball into comparisons between this generation and the last.  Likewise, how will we account for Switch?  What generation?  Is it a console, or a handheld?

Yeah, Wii's success was an anomoly and a fad. But there was always a casual audience in console gaming and it seems almost wiped out in the console arena, home and portable.

Much like the a laptop, the Switch is a home and portable device. Perception of what it is may depend on how owners use it as well.
