Or, you know, have a second voting round? That's what we have here, and it works great. If no candidate gets more than 50 % of the votes in the first round, there's a second round with only the top two candidates. There's no rule set in stone that says the house of representatives has to choose the president if the electors can't... I mean there is a rule, but you can always change it.
