Of Course they need to spend on R&D for Switch but we don't know how much exactly, for instance last year-two Nintendo had multiply patents.
You are wrong, trailer begins with guy playing game on TV with separate controller, basically like real home console, in next moment he takes Switch with itself outside of home and use it like real handheld continue playing same game. In trailer we saw that Swtich acts like real home console or like real handheld,so basically hybrid of home console and handheld and that's most accurate definition of Switch.
You can't really not saying anything or not show anything about new platform only 2-3 months before launch, they released Switch trailer before holiday season in order to people be aware of Switch concept that will come in 5 months, and they done great job with, reactions are very positive and great. They PR talk (and nobody really pays attention on PR talk) just said that Switch is home console on first place beacsue Wii U is dead and they still need to sell 3DS and Pokemon this holiday season. Its all very obvious and clear. You realise they even for DS said that isn't successor to GBA, because they want to keep selling GBA despite DS launch.
